Does everyone have 3D vision
It is estimated that as many as 3 to 9 million people in the United States have vision problems that inhibit their ability to properly see 3D. And as many as 56% of people between 18 and 38 years of age suffer from symptoms related to depth-perception problems.
Why am I seeing in 3D
Often called “3D Vision,” depth perception is dependent on the ability to use both eyes together at the highest level. 3D vision relies on both eyes working together to accurately focus on the same point in space. The brain is then able to interpret the image the each eye sees to create your perception of depth.
How does 3D vision work
3D vision is the direct effect of our brains merging the images from both of our eyes together. Each of our eyes creates a single two-dimensional image, but the brain is able to interpret depth when it merges both two-dimensional images and understands the difference between them.
How does having two eyes help us see depth
We can see depth and distance because our eyes are located at two different points (about 7.5 centimeters apart) on our heads. Each eye looks at an item from a slightly different angle and registers a slightly different image on its retina (the back of the eye).
