Whenever possible, turn off shadows, fog, textures, and special effects displays. You can turn on these effects when you need to preview your design, but turning them off will optimize SketchUp's performance since every time you obit, pan, zoom, draw, or edit, SketchUp renders them.

The most common cause for startup crashes is a low-quality graphics card. If you have a higher-quality card installed, Windows may default to the lower-quality one when running SketchUp causing the crash.

To ensure connectivity you may need to adjust settings in your Firewall, Proxy or Internet Security software for your network or computer. SketchUp needs access on the following ports: 80, 8080, 443. For network licenses SketchUp also needs ports 5053 and 50530 .
